Water resistant watches are made obvious by labeling on the packaging or the watch. On either the watch or the packaging, there will be a code with text such as WR200 meters, WR100 meters, WR50 meters or WR30 meters; the larger the number the more water resistant the watch is. The kind of water in which the watch is immersed, is of more importance than the actual depth of the water.
