Talking to the opposite sex feeling like they have nothing interesting to talk about can be a baffling experience for men. The good news is that, this is completely normal. When speaking with women they are interested in, many men get sweaty palms and jitters in the stomach.

When you think about how to talk to women effectively you only need to keep it to some very basic principles. So many men exert a lot of effort to do a lot more but fail due to improper execution of the basics. The top five things to DO and AVOID doing are the following

1. Never pretend to be someone else. When talking to women, never pretend to be someone else. Sooner or later, they will be able to notice that you are not being honest with yourself. Your bogus personality will only repel women instead of them getting attracted to you. Women see right through it for they are far more intuitive than men. So always be yourself.

2. Do not overwhelm yourself too much. Relax. It is natural for both men and women to get nervous when talking to the opposite sex. It is very important that you stay calm throughout your conversation. Focus on talking to her and forget the idea that you are doing so because you want her to be your girlfriend. Start out friendly. You are not required to impress her all the time.

3. Look for a common interest. One way to keep the conversation going is to find a common interest. You can ask her about her most loved cuisine. After that, you can chat about your favorite cooking shows, chefs, and restaurants. Finding a common topic to talk about keeps the conversation flowing. Of course, this will provide you with a chance to get to know her better as well.

4. Avoid cheesy pick-up lines. Cheesy pick up lines are way too Jurassic. As referred to, a friendly chat to start off with will lead to improved results. This saves yourself from a string of uneasy and awkward moments. This also offers both of you the opportunity to build a wonderful friendship.

5. If it seems appropriate, smile and laugh. Do not be too nervous. Women love men who they can laugh with. So break the silence with a joke (without thinking much about it) and share a laugh with everybody. Joke around in exactly the same way you do with close friends (if you have made girl friends then you'll be able to do this much more naturally through experience).

Through time, you can perfect the study of learning how to talk to women. The important thing to keep in mind is to stay relaxed throughout the conversation. This will let your true personality show and draw her in through your real charisma.
