Warts on hands are a skin infection caused by the human papilloma virus. The human papilloma virus is mainly spread by contact with another person or thing that already has the virus on it. For you to get warts on your hands therefore maybe you had shaken hands with somebody who already had them on his hands.
The only good thing I can think of when you already have warts on your hands is that at least they are painless. This is of course if you are not always gnawing away at them for then they will turn raw and flesh biting. If you ignore them then you will not have too big an issue.
There is really no sure way of preventing warts from appearing on your hands. You can get them even by touching a book that already had the virus on it. The only thing you can do I guess is to try and keep your hygienic behavior at an all time high.
For example a safe way towards achieving prevention against warts on your hands would be to always wash your hands. We are always touching this and that and like I said the human papilloma virus is spread by contact. Washing your hands is not a vaccine but will help.
When ignored warts on hands can go away by themselves with time without giving you any serious effects. For those however who feel that they want them gone as soon as possible then they would have to visit a doctor who will present to them their options of getting rid of warts on hands.
The best way they recommend which I think I would also choose is the use of medications. These can be over the counter drugs or may need a prescription. Either way I think it is the best option from all the others that they can offer you if used well as required.
The other options that the doctors would give you would be about three in number. They can freeze it with some Nitrogen and then scrape it off. They can simply burn the warts on your hands off. Last but not least they can use laser treatment to cut them off.
The reason why I would prefer the medication route to treat warts on hands is because first of all it seems the most painless procedure. The other three options sound a bit dr. Evil to me. The second reason is that the latter options will leave scars that I would not care too much for. All that considered I would rather let the meds do the work for me.
There are some remedies however that people like to use at home to get rid of warts on hands. I have not tried them personally but they are those ones that mama knows best. These are like using duct tape to pull them off or soaking them in warm water and then gently filing them off.
