How To Turn Your Blog Into A Money Maker
Anyone can have a blog. In fact these days, most people do have blogs. What separates the profitable ones from the not-so-profitable ones? It's how interactive the blog is with its readers. When people interact with you and other readers on your blog you can turn that into huge profits online.
Is There A Market For Your Blog?
When trying to make money online, you need to go where the market is. If you're trying to monetize a blog the same rule applies. If you want to have a blog about dinosaur bones, that's fantastic. If you're trying to make money from that same blog, you might want to reconsider creating one about a topic that you're interested in and that more people are interested in as well.
Create Quality Content Consistently
Once you figure out which market you want to blog in, the next thing you need to do is create quality content on a consistent basis. Why should people read your blog? The answer should be: To get valuable information they can't get anywhere else. If you provide valuable information to your readers, they will show their appreciation by continuing to read, and hopefully telling friends and colleagues to do the same.
Of course you need quality content, but the content needs to be provided on a consistent basis. If you're all over the map with your blog posting you won't retain readership. The reason being that people won't ever know when there is new content on your site. They'll check back once or twice and when they can't recognize a pattern, they'll go elsewhere to find the info you provide.
When blogging, if you can only post once a week, that's better than doing 10 entries in 1 day and then not posting again for 2 months. If you have 10 entries, use those as a buffer for the time it takes you to create new ones. Post one entry every couple of days. Spread them out to create a consistent and regular posting schedule. If it's tough for you to consistently write new content, hire an article ghost writer to do it for you.
Engage Your Readers
When you provide valuable information on a regular basis you're 2/3 of the way to success. The last piece of the puzzle is to figure out a way to engage your readers. Encourage discussion about your blog posts. Make it easy for your readers to comment on your posts. When someone comments, make sure to provide a reply. Don't antagonize your readers, but figure out a way to get a discussion going. Provide unique points of view. When people know they can communicate with the blog owner, it makes your blog seem way more personal and fun for them as well, thus encouraging them to comment more often.
When your blog is full of valuable information, and people interacting with each other you're developing a little community. This little community, no matter how big or small, can be very valuable to you. Do all you can to keep your community active and engaged, and you'll be sure to reap the rewards.
