Most traffic that gets to your site will leave without doing what you want them to do which is either to buy something or to opt-in to your list

Without a pop-up such as this, you are losing the vast majority of your traffic. With an exit pop-up, every single person who tries to leave your website without buying anything would be given a second chance so to speak to get on your list.Visitors who get a pop-up window as soon as they reach a webpage are sometimes annoyed because pop-ups can be in-your-face and unwelcome. It is best to give your visitors a chance to look over your entire page before hitting them with a pop-up. If your visitors choose to do what you want them to do, then that's great. The key here is to provide a lot of value. Remember, your exit traffic is made up of people who did take you up for whatever reason, whether it be a lack of interest or perhaps a lack of trust in the product owner. If you provide a lot of value in your ethical bribe, and for free of course, then you will be rewarded with a lot of sign-ups.
By utilizing an exit window in your marketing strategy, you are allowing yourself a second chance of sorts to connect with your visitors. As mentioned before, there could be an initial lack of trust between a prospect and a product owner which might have led the prospect to decline your offer. If they choose to accept your ethical bribe, then you will be allowed to follow-up with them and start to build a relationship. Obviously, your short term goal in placing an exit window on your site would be to gradually convert your exit window subscribers into buyers. However, if you think about it, it's really about building relationships with people and growing your business in ways which wouldn't have been possible without the use of an exit window.
