However, more lost and desperate cases like me are just that when it comes to cooking- lost and desperate. I mean the whole process of making something and that too connected with everything raw and recipes, which are far from helpful, really leaves me clueless and tired. Nevertheless, it is hardly an option to go hungry. Therefore, several of my novice friends and I have to reckon heavily on machines, which can do at least the basic cooking. So, ladies and gentlemen, let us explore one of the best machines ever invented- the rice cooker.

Yes, we might be complete dunderheads when it comes to cooking, but that does not mean that we do not like the result to be good and tasty. The simple, affordable (read cheap) rice cookers come with the option of making rice only. The process is rather simple. You just have to measure the amount of rice you want, wash it well or let it soak for some timefor better results and then add the required amount of water, set the timer and voila! Your rice is ready. In fact, the soaking part of the whole process can well be done inside of the bowl inside the rice cooker as well. The more fancy kinds of rice cookers also allow you to boil vegetables and sometimes even cook flavored rice or sushi rice in them, or just the simple fried rice as well.

Tips to make it work

The first tip is to make sure thatthe requirement does not increase the size of your rice cooker bowl. This might end up in a mishap, what with undercooked and sticky rice over flowing everywhere. If nothing, cleaning the extra mess is a bother for sure. The next thing would be to measure the amount of water according to the amount of rice. After all, you want to neither electrocute yourself noreat some very sloppy and over cooked rice. Do not forget to close the lid, Yes folks, this might make some of your crack a smile, but trust me; there have been several cases where the same has not been done, though thankfully, nothing personal till date!

So go-ahead fellows, try rice cookers and forget the whole stove top method!
