How To Use Your Green Screen Kit For Giving Magical Effects To Your Pictures

Although green screen photography sounds very much complicating and challenging

, people who are practicing this have realized that it is much better than taking your subject out for an on-location shoot. Moreover, there are some pictures that can never be created without this technique. The only criterion for being a successful green screen photographer is that you must know how to appropriately use your green screen kit. Here are some tips that will help you to have a better understanding of the Chroma key photography.

Preparing your subject:

1. Brief your subject well in advance about your plans. Explain him/her about the photography technique and ask them to behave as if they are standing in front of the background that they or you want in the picture and not the simple green screen. This will make your subject feel, thereby encouraging him/her to give the required reactions.

2. Decide your subjects complete outfit including minute things such as the color of the jewelry, hair accessories, wrist watch strap, etc. Anything that is of the same color as that of the background can become an issue for your shoot; therefore, make sure that there are no color conflicts.

Setting up your studio:

1. Make sure that the green screen backdrop kit you will be using is complete and has all the required equipments such as backdrop, stand, lighting accessories, etc.

2. To evenly illuminate your backdrop, use all the required lighting accessories such as fluorescent kits, softboxes, reflectors, etc. Light your subject as well as background separately so that separating them will not be difficult during the keying process.

3. Keep at least 6 feet distance between the subject as well as the backdrop. The lesser the distance, the more will be the color spill.

Keying out the green screen backdrop:

1. Once your subject as well as your setup is ready, click a few shots of and transfer them to your PC. Choose the best one that you feel you want to edit.

2. Use a green screen editing software to remove the backdrop. When done, your subject will be against a blank space.

Inserting the new background

1. Drag the new background behind the subject to create an initial image.

2. Look for areas of improvement that will give your image a natural and realistic look. You can try shadowing some areas, correcting the color spills, etc.

3. Pay attention to even the minutest details, as they play a great role in making your pictures look real.
