How Tough Is It To Get Into A College?
After the publication of the higher secondary board results
, the first thing that comes to a students mind is to queue up in colleges in order to get their exclusive forms. The filling up of forms, attaching mark sheets, getting them attested, are the procedures that he/she needs to observe rigorously in order to take
college admissions. As long as one is not enrolled in a college of ones own preference, that too in a subject of ones own passion, the college life in reality does not begin in the true sense. Choosing the perfect colleges that will fulfill all the demands and expectations of the student is hard to find. The right atmosphere, the right faculty, the right course structure, all needs to be taken into consideration when one makes a choice. However, the sad part of the story is that ultimate decision of selecting a student lies in the supreme hands of the college authorities. So even if one lands up with a list of colleges prioritizing one over the other, it is not mandatory that he/she will be selected by the college of topmost priority.
The
university admissions follow an elaborate procedure before they bring out the list of candidates per subjects, such days of awaiting are indeed a burden to most students and to their parents as well. They have all the time in the world but cannot enjoy a single second of life. Depressing though it seems but this eager awaiting has its own charms of brooding and sleeping. However, the tension is soon lifted with the students rushing past one another in order to catch up on the list of selected candidates put up on the college notice board. Some colleges publish the list online. In such cases, the students can check their names within the comfort of the four walls.
The stress of getting into colleges is so high in some students and their parents that they enroll themselves in tutorials so that they do better in the individual tests that some colleges take to judge the merit of the students. Such
college tuition places are becoming a common phrase in every corner. The days of board exams isnt enough any more. Students need more attention post boards to get preparations for college admission tests. Is it actually necessary or is it hype? This is the question that needs to be thought of.
