How Women Can Protect Themselves On City Streets

Women are the targets of violence and 9 out of 10 cases

. If you have any doubt about that check a local police blotter or even the local news. It has always been that way unfortunately, and it will always be that way. In other parts of the world it is even worse. So does that make US women lucky? I don't think so!

But if women know that fact growing up they can take some steps to protect themselves in just about any circumstance with self defense for crime prevention.

1. The first thing they can do is to take a self defense course and learn some self defense basics. This will help instill a sense of confidence in the way you carry yourself. The bad guys pick up by body language believe it or not.

2. Then use some common sense. Stay out of darkened places like stairwells parking lots, etc. they are breeding places for crime.

3. Whenever possible go someplace with a buddy. There is a strength in numbers.

4. And most importantly is learn about self defense products. Pick one, maybe two, like pepper spray and a stun gun. The pepper spray can be your long-range self defense. And if you should happen to miss, a stun gun will provide short range self defense.
