How Your Pets Negatives Can Become A Positive

I love my dog

I love my dog. I've had her since she was 6 months old and four years later I have learned to love and appreciate her every way. Pets are a great addition to any home. They love you no matter how many times you scream at them whenever they chew up your favorite shoes or when you accidentally step on their poop. They are eager for you to come home and are always by you side no matter what. Although there are many things that are great about owning a dog, there are those negative things as well. But why not make those negatives into a positive for everyone?

When you first purchase a dog, you have to teach it to "digest" outside the home, not in your favorite shoe or in the middle of the living room. I had a pit bull named Silo a couple of years ago. He had the bad habit of urinating on my bed. After years of hard training, he finally realized that my bedroom was not his property. When a dog frequently poops and urinates in the same area on the floor, bad smells start to develop. Clorox Bleach then becomes your best friend. Pour a decent amount of Clorox into in a bucket of water. Pour the mixture on the area here the dog usually urinates. I don't recommend pouring anywhere that isn't tile. Make sure the Clorox is safe for your type of flooring. Wait ten minutes or so and mop up the mess. Always make sure to place the mop in a bucket of fresh water and Clorox once again just to take off any bad smells left behind. It is a good idea to do this procedure while the kids are outside or nowhere near the area that is to be disinfected. Make sure to never mix Clorox with anything that is not water. This can cause harmful fumes and can be very dangerous if inhaled. I like Clorox because it immediately eliminates the smell for good and kills the bacteria left behind. Did I just sound like a commercial?

Purchasing duvet covers has also been a great habit of mine since owning Sasha, my pet dog. She starts to look at me with those big puppy eyes and wags her tail whenever I am laying in my bed. Who can resist that? So I usually have her with me on my bed whenever I watch Television. Unfortunately dog shed hair, have stinky tears and drool. I would obviously have to wash my sheets often. That is when my duvet covers come to the rescue. Not only does the duvet cover protect my comforter, it is also a lot easier for me to wash off any bad smells my dog leaves behind. Duvet covers fit perfectly in any washer and gets completely cleaned. I get a fresh, clean and non smelling duvet set every time.

Last, I have learned that my dog only lets me groom her whenever it is raining outside. It is amazing, I don't have to struggle with her or break a sweat! She is terrified of the rain because she knows that the rain can = thunderstorms. Oh boy, she hates thunderstorms. One loud bang, and she heads straight to the bathtub. It is a miracle! If your dog is like mine, scared of the rain then I would recommend you grab the shampoo and brush while you can and start grooming. They will go happy and willingly because they know that you are there to protect them from the mean old thunder bolt. In my home, Thunderstorms = Clean Doggy and Happy Pet Owner.
