How to Attract Your Target Audience to Your Trade Show Booth

Eye-catching trade show displays will definitely help you stand out from the competitors and draw in a large crowd. As lucrative as conventions can be, you may not be getting the results you hoped for if you are spending too much time talking to someone who has no intention of becoming a customer and letting the good ones get away. To determine what method will bring in the most visitors to your trade show booth, think about your target demographic. If you are targeting young consumers, using social media like Facebook and Twitter may be the best way to reach them. If your business sells B2B and you are targeting professionals, mailing out invitations could appeal to them much more. Whatever you decide to do, offer an incentive by letting them know you will have free gifts or demos just for stopping by your trade show exhibit.

Clear Signs


Clearly label your display system so the attendees know who you are and a tagline that will give them a little hint as to what you do. The tagline should tease your audience so they have some idea what your company offers without having to list out all of the products or services your company offers. Hanging banners can be used to draw people to your convention exhibit, since they are mounted directly above your trade show booth and can be seen from across the convention floor. Banner stands are also excellent at bringing attention to your convention display. If your display system is tucked away and not easily viewable from the aisle, put a banner display along the aisle to direct attendees to your exhibit booth.

Presentations and Demos

Hold your audience's attention by having activities going on at your trade show display that will not only inform them of what your business has to offer, but is also entertaining. Presentations are excellent ways of educating your audience, but there's a few rules to remember 1) keep it short (no more than 5 minutes), 2) stay away from technical or industry jargon because your audience may not understand it as well as you do, and 3) Visual aids will help your message sink in even more (for example, power point presentations and pictures of your products/services). Hands-on demos are also excellent ways of drawing in a crowd; let them try out your products themselves to increase their confidence and possibility of buying one for themselves.
