Submit enough quality articles on your subjects, and sooner or later this is bound to happen. You shouldn't expect it to happen with any frequency, but it's nice when it does happen. Just keep doing what you're doing to improve your chances.
It won't happen 100% or anywhere near half the time. But if you submit enough, it will work.
Finally, publishing articles that have links pointing back to your sites can help you naturally and organically rank well in search engines. Backlinks are a large part of off-site SEO, and backlinks from high trust, high PageRank sites can help rank your site right up there with the best. This is one reason why you should occasionally submit articles to many article directories, and not just EzineArticles or Associated Content.
