How to Boot Up in Safe Mode - Repair Computer Freezes

Sometimes computer problems have a harder time being fixed while booted up in windows normally. There is an option to boot up in safe mode so that problems can be dealt with before normal processes are run.

Getting booted in this mode is the first step. On most windows computers right after you push the power button to start the computer, you need to push the F8 key. Press it more than a few times until you see an option to boot up in safe mode. You will see a long list of choices to pick from. Pick to boot up in safe mode as an option. If you ever accidentally hit the F8 key, you can still boot up normally.

One of the benefits of booting up in this mode is that nasty programs like viruses and spyware that are part of your start up sequence can't open up while booted this way. Some of these programs can't be removed from the system while they are running. But in safe mode they can be taken off the system. Your virus software and adware software might have an option to automatically boot this way and remove the problems for you, but some of them do not.

Sometimes while uninstalling a program, it can lock up or freeze. In safe mode this should be a much easier process as most of the computer's resources aren't being used.

If your computer is messed up, by booting into safe mode you can go back to your system restore point to see if your previous save point didn't have the current glitches and problems you are currently dealing with.

Another way of repairing the computer is to use a registry cleaner tool to scan the system for errors. This tool can take care of computer problems, error messages, and glitches that otherwise have to be fixed in safe mode. If you haven't used a registry cleaner before, you most likely have problems that need to be addressed.
