How to Change the Display Settings in Windows XP


Want to make your desktop attractive? Want it to decorate in your own way? You can make the background of your computer attractive by changing its settings and also by putting up pictures and screensavers of your taste. All the options are available under the display setting of your computer. To do the same, you may need some Windows XP support. Here is some computer help that will tell you that how to make changes on your computer's display settings.

We can do that in the following ways:

1) If we right-click on the desktop we will find the Properties' option, the box will open with the display settings options.


2) Alternatively, we can also go to the control panel. Click Start' then click on Control Panel' and then click on display settings.

3) We will find five options there to make the changes.

4) Themes: This option will help you to choose the background colors of your computer, and applications' sound when you click on a particular button. There are some preinstalled themes available. What you need to do is to select a theme and then click on OK.

5) Desktop: This option will allow you to set the background picture that you want to see on your computer. You can choose the picture that you want to see or else you can also download some pictures from the website and save that to the desktop and choose that as background. The browse button will help you to find the picture as well. There are three options to put the picture stretch, center and title. This will let you choose the position of the picture.

6) Screensaver: When your computer goes on the idle mode, the screensaver comes up. You can choose it from the default options. You can also set the time of the screensaver before it goes to the idle mode. Preview option is also available to see the screensaver before you apply it.

7) Appearance: This option will help you to choose different colors and the fonts. Again there are three available options Windows & buttons, Color schemes and Font size. It depends on you how you want to see the desktop.

8) Settings: From here you can do the color settings, technical troubleshooting. You may also use Advance settings. Restart your computer to make the changes effective.
