The first thing you are going to want to do is buy a domain. You can get one at GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com. This is written in stone. So make sure it's what you want. I have bought domains in the past and then later wanted to change them. There's no turning back.

The next thing to think about when you design you own webpage is the TITLE. What is your webpage going to be about? Remember, this does not have to be written in stone. You can change it later time.

Next you will need to open up a word processing document. This is where you are going to type your content. When typing your text you are going to want to give something valuable to your audience. What can you share with them? Content is basically the most important thing you need to think about when you design your webpage. It does not have to be flashy or fancy. Basically just to get the point across to your audience. Just think like you are talking to your best friend as you type the text to design you own webpage. You want to have atleast 500 words minimum.

It's good to know a little HTML as you design your own webpage. Do not feel that you have to get all technical, cause you don't.

HTML is just a way to tell the text what you want it to do.

There is HTML for bold, italics, headings, colors, pictures and paragraphs.

There is also a special code that you can put in links to other websites.

It's just a way to manipulate the text to tell it what to do. Basic HTML is

pretty easy to learn.

There are lots of free images you can find online to design your own webpage with.

Do a Google search for free images to use. Once you find an image you want to use, right click on it.

You can either save it to your computer to use later or copy link location to insert into your HTML code.

Once you learn a few HTML tags you might find that it's kinda fun. I did when I first started. Let me remind you that you do not have to know this stuff to design your own webpage. It's just good to know. There are many programs out there that are WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) and you can use those if you'd like. Personally I like to have the knowledge of HTML when I build my websites.

As you design your own webpage you want to keep it simple. Simple is better and more focused on the content.

1. Get a domain

2. Title your page and fill with content.

3. Add some links and pictures and links.

4. Get traffic (we'll talk about that later).

This will give you something to think about as you design your own webpage for the very first time.
