Even though the doors to love have been broken, there are special precautions that need to be taken so you know how to do online dating safely. Meeting someone new is always exciting, but remember that you don't know this new person anymore than they know about you.

Tip#1 Always arrange to meet your date somewhere instead of picking them up from your home. That way if things don't work out, you don't have to worry about them coming around and trying to stalk you.
Tip #2- Meet in a public place with a lot of people around like a restaurant or caf in case something goes terribly wrong.
Tip #3 Consider going out on a double date or a group date so you are not alone on your first date.
Tip # 4- Pay for half of the date that way you don't feel obligated to return the favor on a second date. If the first date doesn't work out, paying for half the date better helps leaves things on a clean slate.
Tip #5 Try to limit the amount of alcohol you drink. Drinking too much can lower your inhibitions and adversely affect your judgment. In addition, if you do decide to drink, make sure your drink is in full view at all times so nothing can be slipped into it.
Tip #6 Let someone else know where you are going to be. You may even want to have a friend call you at some point to make sure you are alright.
