What you will have to invest is some hard work and determination. This may not come easy, but it will pay off if you put in the time. Do not expect to get rich quick. Write articles about things that you know about. Write about what is pertinent to the niche that your business is related to so you can drive relevant traffic to your website. There is a space at the end of the article called a resource box where you write a little bit about yourself and you can put a link to your website in that box. When someone is interested in your article they can click on your link and be taken to your website to get more information.

You want to target customers that are likely to buy your product or might be interested in starting a home based business themselves. You can target traffic by gender, demographics or age just to name a few.

You will want to visit other people's blogs and make comments on them. When doing so, be sure to leave your contact information so if people are interested in what you say, they can follow your lead and get more information.

You can also put videos on YouTube. More and more people are going to YouTube and doing searches for videos on topics they are interested in. Again, make comments on videos. Get your name out there so when other people see it and like what you have to say, they will look further for you. The more exposure you have on the internet the more likely you will attract leads to your website.

Another area where you can generate leads is in the social media areas like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and LinkedIn, to name a few.

There are some online marketing strategies that will help you to generate more traffic to your website. I have mentioned a few of these strategies earlier. Video marketing, article marketing forum marketing, social marketing and blog marketing are a few of these strategies.
