How to Filter All of Your Consumable Water With Home Water Filters

How to Filter All of Your Consumable Water With Home Water Filters

I was surprised to find many whole house water filters cost thousands of dollars. This price tag was based on what I wanted filtered out, capacity of the system, and the brand of the filter. I know I could probably get a bargain brand filter, but if I am going to spend the money I want to get the right filter from the get go.

After eliminating the whole house water filter, due to budget reasons, I started to look at how to keep my family safe without getting the house unit. I thought about all the ways we consume water; through drinking, showering, and cooking. I know the water we use to flush the toilets probably doesn't need to be filter, and the water we use to do the laundry also didn't really need to be filtered. So the areas I concentrated my filter needs on were the kitchen and the bathrooms.

When thinking about the kitchen, I know we get our water from the refrigerator and also the sink. I then looked at filters for the refrigerator. I saw my different styles and capacities, but many are under $100 and have good reviews and are perfect for my refrigerator. I purchased a refrigerator water filter, and that solved one of my problems. The next was the sink. This is where the styles and capacities varied greatly. I really liked the filters that were hidden from sight, and had a large capacity. These were pretty inexpensive, under $150.

My last area was the bathroom; this was the trickiest room in the house. I know baths in my house are plenty popular, and was worried about how to filter the water coming out of the tub spout. I thought about this for a while, and decided we could just run the shower head if we needed a bath. That's was when I picked up a water filter shower head. It has a replaceable cartridge and also two stages of filtration, it was about $50.

So I have filter just about all of the consumable water in our house for right around $300, considerably less than the thousands I thought I would have to spend. I haven't completely given up on the thought of a whole house unit, but that is a purchase I need more time to save for. Buying separate filters allows me protect my family and also stay on a budget.
