How to Free Disk Space with PC Health Advisor

PC Health Advisor is a new utility from ParetoLogic Software that puts powerful computer

maintenance tools into the hands of even the newest of computer users. Though the product is offered in both a free and standard version, the free trial version comes with functional hard disk management tools. Whether you ultimately upgrade to the standard version or opt to stick with the free version, you can use PC Health Advisor to keep your hard disk clear of clutter and running at its best.

PC Health Advisor comes with five specific tools dedicated to disk management: Duplicate Finder, Defrag, Restore Point Manager, Clear Temporary Files, and Clear Recent History. Each of these tools is much easier to use than comparable tools offered in Windows. For example, do you know how to find and delete duplicate files in Windows? With PC Health Advisor, the utility does the work for you by scanning your hard drive, listing duplicate files, and giving you the option to delete unwanted duplicates. This can free up huge amounts of disk space. The same is true of the Defrag too. With PC Health Advisor, all you need to do is click the Defrag button and choose either Analyze or Defragment. You can even set up a regular defrag schedule and put this tool on autopilot.

PC Health Advisor's Restore Point tool is particularly useful. Not only can you restore your system or set a new restore point with a click of a button, you can also remove obsolete restore points, thereby freeing up valuable disk space. Sure, Windows comes with System Restore; however, the steps involved are clunky in comparison to the ease of clicking a button or two in PC Health Advisor's user-friendly interface. Plus, Windows requires that you set restore points in System Protection and perform restores in System Restore which is confusing to many novice computer users.

Finally, PC Health Advisor also simplifies deleting temporary files and history files. In the Disk tab, you'll see a button for each of these tasks. Simply click the button and confirm your decision to clear the files and recover disk space by clicking the Yes button when prompted. In contrast, to clear temporary files in Windows, you have to go to Start, right-click Computer, select the hard disk, right-click it, choose Properties, click the Disk Cleanup button, wait for the results to load, select the types of files you want to delete, and finally click the OK button. With PC Health Advisor, all of these steps are eliminated.

Using these file tools, you can easily free up disk space by finding and deleting duplicate files, defragging the drive, removing obsolete restore points, clearing temporary files, and clearing history files. PC Health Advisor groups these tools under its Disk tab, making it easy to find and perform these operations.
