The very first dilemma of a newly graduated coach is literally how to get coaching clients. It is unfortunately, is a very confronting process, and too many coaches are trying to get their clients the hard way and making it a struggle. Too many of coaches only learn the skills to coach others but neglected to learn how to grow their practice. Today, coaches require a total confidence not only in the services they provide, but also in their ability to sell themselves as the solution to the decision maker. As a coach, there is no room for timidity; you need to quickly show what you can bring into the table.

For a new coach, it is a plain difficult and frustrating experience to present your trade to others while knowing most weren't going to buy it no matter how good your coaching is. Some coaches that face this problem have the experience of making a very small income on their very first year while not charging more than a hundred dollars a month. On the other hand, there is some really successful coach that makes hundred dollars per hour easily. Sometimes, the only thing keeping coaches from earning those big paychecks are their believe system. They did not believe they could get coaching clients; after all, they haven't seen the result yet.

Well, to sell something, you have to start with marketing. Marketing is basically the how to get your coaching clients. A great marketing effort will induce awareness in your possible customer. If you start your marketing by telling everyone about your coaching skill, then you have already walked into the wrong path. Nobody is interested in those; they want to know if you have successfully helped someone with their trouble. Their specific trouble, as a marketer, you need to narrow down your target market. The one who don't get it are trying to sell to the world and are afraid to narrow down. The concept is that by selling to the world there may be a bigger share of clients out there. But that is not the reality. The clients are only interested if you are good enough to provide the solution for their specific trouble. Which is why if you talk to the world, your chances of getting a client will be smaller to when you talk to a small group that share the same trouble.

Now that we know marketing is important, you need to learn how to get your message rights. There are literally thousands of people that are looking for business coach. With the amount of people looking for coaches, it should be easy to get clients. The only problem you are not getting clients is because you haven't gotten your message out to the clients or you are sending the wrong message. So be specific about your message and aim it to the right market.

No matter what kind of coaches you are, the short lesson in "how to get coaching clients" is always the same. You have to market yourself out there to the right clients with the right message. With this, you can literally design on the number of new clients you want to take each week.
