This is yet another piece of malware pretending to be a genuine antivirus and malware removal tool. It looks genuine and you can easily be fooled into installing it.

This software gets onto your computer when you visit infected websites or malicious websites hosting it and the first you know about it is when you suddenly get warning messages saying your computer is infected and you need to run this software.

Once sysinternals antivirus is installed it can be a nightmare to get rid of and it will keep generating fake scan messages. These in turn will display pop up after pp up on your display telling you that your computer is infected with spyware, malware and Trojans and you need to remove it.

This is all fake and it's only purpose is to get you to spend money on software that does not work and will just steal information from your computer. Sysinternals Antivirus does not do anything at all except take your money and infect your PC.

How To get rid of sysinternals antivirus

This malware tries to prevent you from removing it and stopping it. It will even attempt to disable and remove any protection you already have installed and it will also change and alter files and registry entries to ensure if you try you remove it you cannot.

There are several ways to remove this nasty malware. The first is to remove every trace if it by hand.

#1 start task manager by pressing the ctrl-alt-del keys together go to the processes tab and scroll through the list. Stop any process for sysinternals antivirus.

#2 Open your registry editor by going to the start menu and then run and type in regedt32.

#3 Search for and remove the following entries.

#4 Restart your computer and it should be gone.

This method is not guaranteed because Sysinternals antivirus like other malware is constantly changing the names of the files to prevent detection and removal and if you make any mistakes and delete the wrong registry entries your windows installation is going to be corrupted and may not work again.
