1) Free up the disk space, follow the steps below:

a) Delete Windows temporary files, temporary Internet files, cookies, history and so on.

b) Remove all unnecessary, duplicate or junk files and free the disk space.

c) Empty the Recycle Bin. Even if you have remove the files to the recycle bin, they still take up the disk space. You need to empty the recycle bin.

d) Remove optional Windows components that you don't use.

e) Uninstall the programs that you no longer use. Unnecessary programs will also take up the space of your RAM.

2) To disable a startup item, you need to follow the steps below:

a) Click "Start" menu and then click "Run" submenu.

b) Input "msconfig" into popup window and click on "OK" button

c) "System Configuration Utility" window pops up and select the "Startup" menu. You will see all the startup items in the list.

d) Disable the items you don't want to start when Windows start up! Then restart windows

3) Clean up Windows Registry.

This is the most demanding work to speed up your computer. Because Registry contains all important parameters of the PC which enables the computer runs stably and smoothly.
