This is one of the reasons on why there are a lot of computers with slow performance. After you have deleted all the unnecessary files, the next thing that you should do is to scan for viruses.

If you already have an anti-virus software installed on your computer, all you need to do is to run it and perform a full system scan. Viruses are the common culprits in making the computer slow. If there are a lot of viruses, the anti-virus application will automatically remove and protect you from future intrusion.

Do not forget to always update your anti-virus client to ensure that you are getting the latest shield against viruses. Having antivirus software with an outdated virus database definition is pretty useless since your system will not be able to have the protection that it needs against a lot of threats.

After you have deleted all the viruses, it is recommended that you restart your pc before testing its improvement. After you have restarted the computer, you can now perform your own evaluation on the speed of the computer itself.

There are still things that you may want to perform such as clearing the private data browser such as cookies, searching history, visited sites, and all your online activities. You can delete this by going to the settings and click on "clear private data".
