How to Increase Traffic to Your Blog: Some Methods Will Just Not Work
When I look back at the time I was just starting my blog, I can imagine how many desperate bloggers are out there seeking methods of increasing traffic to their blogs. If you are a new blogger, you must have tried several methods and you can agree with me that it takes time and effort to know how to increase traffic to your blog. What saddens me is what I have read from many people claiming to be experts. Some tricks' and tips' they suggest will just not work.
In my entire search on how to increase traffic to your blog, there is only one point that I realized all the bloggers seem to agree upon. It comes out clearly that you can never havetraffic to your blog if what you have there is poor content. In essence, the point is obvious that no one would be interested in your blog if you do not add value to them.
However, there is still an issue with what quality content is. Some bloggers argue that quality content comprises of facts that will help the reader talk of something useful. In my view, that is just one aspect of what quality content is, and in fact, a very shallow idea for that matter. Take this for example; why should I take all the time to tell you that you should have high quality content in your blog? Even though telling you that is useful, it is just so obvious that it is of no value.
This is what I mean; quality content is not just what will help your blog readers. It should consist of information that is unique and new. If you seriously need to know how to increase traffic to your blog, then think beyond the simple facts that people put forth.
A greater concern though is on some methods that are branded as great methods of bringing traffic to your blog or website but are totally a waste of time. Take for example answering questions on Yahoo answers. I was very glad when I first came across this advice and went on to spend a lot of time on it. However, I realized that in the long run, what I was getting was actually not worth the time I was spending there. Very few leads will come your way by using this method.
I stopped for a while to try to figure out why that Answers was not working. This is what I discovered. You will have to use a lot of time to find questions that match your niche, take even more time to post an answer that will be convincing enough for people to click on your link and only get a few or no lead at all from that effort. The time you spend doing this would have been used on other methods that would give you much better results.
Conclusion
As you look for tips on how to increase traffic to your blog, take time to consider what will work well for your blog. Invest more time in one powerful method rather than dividing your efforts towards many different methods that will all bring meager traffic. If something does not work for you, quite immediately and concentrate on what works. Remember that there is no single rule that will see your traffic catapult, apart from, of course, unique and valuable content.
