How to Know its Time to Go- Knowing when your job has expired
No one is really happy going to work on a daily basis, doing a 9-5 routine. At some point in our working lives we notice that our productivity levels have dropped, we no longer enjoy resuming and closing and there really is no drive. May be a promotion might work, or a new office location or more pay might act as the required driver. Or may be not. May be its just time to go.
How do you know when your career or job has expired, mind you it might not be your career as a whole but your present place of work.
The motivation is just not there and these could be the reasons:
You discover you are paid less than the going rate or less than your peers in the same organization- This could be debilitating and if you've had that discussion with your boss and they are not budging, perhaps it's time to find somewhere else.
Boredom: You feel your job is routine and there's nothing else left to challenge you, it's time for a change.
You are not given any more challenging responsibilities which also leads to boredom- If all you do is make photocopies and push paper all day and you have been doing that for years it's time to find something more challenging.
You are always having boss problems: The truth is your boss has an edge over you any day.
You just want to call in sick everyday if you had the chance
You wish you really were sick
You feel stuck in a rut and like you are in the wrong job
You envy other peoples jobs
You just want out and you don't even mind working for less pay
We all feel like this sometimes but then only if this has reached a certain threshold should one consider leaving or re-evaluating ones options, no organization is perfect and one may end up in a worse situation than before if a hurried decision is taken.
