Our problem here in America is that the average meal is around 2,000 calories or more. That's actually disgusting, because that is how much one person should eat in a whole day. The other problem we have is that the average person eats 3 to 5 of these huge meals every day. The reason so many Americans are fat comes down to simple math: we eat way too many calories.


Cutting down your calorie intake is the first step to getting your abs to show. This is really easy to do. The first thing you need to do is set a calorie limit for yourself each day. Then you should aim to eat about 4 to 6 meals each day. To break down your calories, you divide up your calorie limit into chunks that you're allowed to eat at each meal. For example, if you decide that you're only going to eat 1,500 calories each day(which will just melt the pounds off by the way), then you can have three meals of 400 calories, and two snacks of 150 calories each. That means you can eat six times during the day. If you choose relatively healthy foods that are nutrient dense, then you won't even feel hungry throughout the day.

Are you ready for this? The secret weapon in your dieting arsenal is vegetables. I know, I know, gag me, right? Well, the trick is to just cook them the right way. The reason these are your secret weapon is that they have hardly any calories in them, so you can eat a ton of them, and they make you very full. Not to mention, they are the healthiest thing you can eat. This adds up to a win-win-win-win for you.

Here are some tips on how to cook vegetables so that even a whiny little kid will love them. My personal favorite, is to take some fresh broccoli and cauliflower, cut them up into little florets, and spread them out on a cookie sheet. Then, drizzle a little bit of olive oil over them and then toss it all around with your hands to distribute the oil. The next step is to spread them out again in a single layer, and then sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top. Then, you simply broil it in your oven until the parmesan starts to brown. It's fricken good. Try it.
