How to Make a Tissue Paper Easter Egg Wreath

1.The first thing you need to decide is how small or large you want your wreath to be. If you want, a small 12-inch wreath then you will want 10 egg shaped Styrofoam balls. If you want, a large 24-inch wreath then you will want 22 egg shaped Styrofoam balls. (It is important to allow a little room for the wreath to be tied off and the bow to be placed on it. If you were to use 12 egg shaped Styrofoam balls for a 12-inch wreath you would not have enough room to tie off the wreath or add the bow.

2.Once you have all your supplies you can start covering your eggs in the tissue paper. You have many options for this part you can cover the eggs in solid colors or cut stripes and make two-toned colors or even cut strips of the tissue paper and make multiple colors. The size of the tissue paper you cut will depend on the size of the egg you are covering so you will have to judge this by looking at the egg and there will be some trial and error involved at least with the first few eggs. Use thin lines of glue on the tissue paper to secure the paper to the egg. Gently roll the egg onto the tissue paper for solid color eggs, fold down the top and bottom edges, and smooth them out.

3.Once you have all your eggs covered, you will need to gently make a hole in the egg. Start at the top and stick your craft blade carefully through the egg. It is best not to hold the egg; use something to hold the egg in place so you do not cut yourself.

4.Once all of the eggs have the hole in the center cut your 24-gauge wire two inches longer than the size of the wreath you want to make. For example if you want a 12 inch wreath cut the wire at 14 inches. Place a very tiny piece of the white floral tape on the tip of each end of the wire so you do not poke yourself when threading the eggs on to the wire.

5.Thread the eggs on the wire; when you have half the eggs on the wire bend up the side that does not have any eggs on it so it forms the shape of a circle.

6.Finish threading the eggs on to the wire. Twist the extra two inches of taped wire together to secure the eggs so they do not fall off.

7.Add your bow and if you would like attach an additional 4 to 6 inches of wire to the center (under the bow) and twist it and use as a hanger.

Learning how to make an Easter Egg wreath usingtissue papermay sound difficult but it really is not as long as you can picture a round wreath with eggs on it you will do just fine. However, we cannot stress enough to use extreme caution when inserting the craft blade though the eggs to make the hole for the wire. This will be a nice addition to all your Easter decorations.
