The colors for a winter or fall wedding are easy to plan but hard to manage. There is always going to be white at a wedding but without fresh flowers to help you tone the white out, you have to rely on winter and fall themed decorations to help balance the white at the wedding and the reception.

For winter weddings, never go for a pure white, always try and make it a nice cream color with a smooth pearl like finish. Textures matter a lot in winter. The less than pure white will make it easier to add silver and gold accents. Use silver for colors like green and blue. Silver will work particularly well if it's a holly or teal green.

Although silver and gold can be mixed with just about any color, remember that if you mix it with lighter shades, it's going to highlight the white instead of masking it. Deeper and darker tones will give things a warm look.

Try and choose a venue that's carpeted in a nice warm and neutral color; tile or polished floors will give a colder and stiffer look to the room. If you aren't a fan of carpets, use curtains and drapes to give the venue a warm look.

Like a summer wedding, the centerpieces for wedding tables will be a huge part of a winter wedding. It's where you can show off the most colors; use fresh fruit arrangements and fruit bouquets to give tables a fun and festive look that will work with the holiday season. You can also use ornaments or miniature trees.
