MSXML is a kind of programming language frequently applied to keep, structure and move data and information. XML might appear the same as HTML or hypertext markup language, but the two are different and unique from each other. HTML emphasizes on the appearance of the document, specifically the size, color, etc., while MSXML emphasizes on the document structure, helping the computer understand the needs of the user. MSXML is a very simple and easy programming language to learn, since the tags are not defined beforehand. MSXML stands for Microsoft XML Core Services. This is a collection of various support functions that will make XML simpler for applications and use. MSXML mixes XML with other existing programming languages like HTML, Javascript, C++, etc. You also get rid of the guesswork by using predefined tags. Several versions of the language have already been released. Versions 1, 2.0a, 2.5 and 2.6 are not supported or are considered obsolete by many. The main version today is version 3.0. Other new versions also come with the package. Even though version 4.0 was intended to improve the 3.0, it did not replace 3.0 because of the features that were already functional and did not need upgrading. For Microsoft Office applications, version 5.0 was created and also works well with version 4.0 and version 3.0 for maximum performance. Version 6.0 was made to work well with 3.0, even with two other programs running at the same time. The version 6.0 was created to support Microsoft SQL Server 2005, NET Framework 3.0, Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista and Visual Studio 2005.

Creating an XML document, first decide the tags based on the purpose of the document. Structure the document in this manner:

To load a document, you can drag and drop the XML document or load it using a text program like Microsoft Word. XML is a text document, so virtually any kind of text program can easily open it. You can also load the XML document within MSXML or another web browser. Other programs are also available to successfully load XML documents.
Adding Elements

- InsertFirst() - this includes a new entry at the start of the list.
- InsertLast() - this includes a new entry at the end of the list.
- InsertBefore() - this includes the new entry before the element that includes the provided UPC trait.
