The only problem is that man internet marketers have already discovered these keywords that are high in searches and low in competition, there are some still out there for the taking, but it will take some work.

Here is a little guide you can use to determine if the keyword is worth using:

0-50,000 competition: Newbie

50,000-100,000 competition: Intermediate

100,000-500,000 competition: Intermediate/Expert

1M+ competition: Expert+

Don't get me wrong, if you are new to internet marketing you can still use keywords that are over 1 million in competition, but don't be surprised when your website is on the 100th page after a few weeks, with high competition, it takes hard work and a lot of Backlinking to get on the #1 page.

To check your keywords competition you can simply type in the keyword in Google, using quotes first, then using without quotes. If the number of competition is relatively low, and the same amount of competition (with and without quotes) then the keyword should be easy to rank for.

When you find good keywords to use, make sure to use these keywords in your article title, as well as your website content. A keyword density of 2-3 percent should be good enough, unless your posting articles to directories, then you should keep it below 2 percent.
