How to Recruit Ambassadors for Your Networking Events
If you're planning to hold a good sized networking event
, you will usually need a small staff of people to make it all go well. Sometimes, 1 or 2 people can handle a crowd of 30 through 50 people but if your event will have more than that, Networking Ambassadors are recommended.
The ambassadors will make sure that you guests are taken care of and getting the most out of the event. Not only can they relieve you of a lot of work but also add a strong professional touch to your event.
If they're chosen conscientiously and well-trained, a fabulous event is in the bag. Recruiting the right people is not difficult but takes some ordered steps;
Speak to friendly-outgoing professionals that you already know.
Depending on how large your contact base is, this can be the best way to go. As a networker, you have probably made the acquaintance of quite a few seasoned pros.
These seasoned professionals are usually looking for opportunities to come into contact with more of the right business people. Inviting them to be honorary ambassadors for your event is a great way for you to maintain ties as well as present them the gift of opportunity.
Offer free admission which equals free networking.
In addition to the gift of opportunity, complementary admission and refreshments can help to seal the deal. The same perks can be offered to your close friends and business associates in your network. These kind folks will love to do you a favor and have a blast at the same time. It can all be a lot of fun and be very productive but make sure that you still train well. The professionalism will shine through.
Classified ads still work.
If your network isn't quite that large and you choose to recruit from the ground up, some classified ads are a good possibility. There are a wide range of choices when it comes to classifieds.
You can go online to websites like Craigslist.com, LinkedIn, and even Facebook. On all of these websites, you will find professionals that are willing and able to network, especially for free.
Depending on the caliber of the individuals that you allow into your organization, the training may be a bit more intense but that does not mean that all won't turn out well. You can also use the classifieds in local newspapers and magazines to locate professionals who are willing to participate
