If you are anything like me, you get a run time error and you have no idea what that is or what to do about it. Then you go online to look it up to find out what to do about it. This of course led you here.

Definition:

A run time error has way too many types of error codes for me to list them all so I am going to list just a few of the more common. They include:

Memory issues

Program Updates

Programs that don't match the operating system

Missing files and bad installations

Not enough space on the hard drive

Corrupted files

The Run Time Error Problem:

In most cases, a run time error means you have a registry error. Here you will learn the quick and easy ways to fix the four main causes of run time errors before your system crashes and burns.

4 Sources of Run-time Errors and The Simple Solution

1. Software Problems

Sometimes, the problem is simple software updates. If this is the problem, all you need to do is update the software. You can normally find a patch or update by visiting the software site and downloading an update.

The worst-case scenario means you need to find the disk, uninstall, and reinstall the program. You just don't want to delete the program or you will run into more registry errors.

2. Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) Problems

These guys stay running after you close them out. It is a function of DOS. They are more likely to cause problems if you are running Windows '95 or Windows '98. You can fix them by pressing Cntrl+Alt+Delete and closing out the culprit.

Programs that cause these would be calculator and calendar. You will see what programs are running when you run Task Manager.

3. Memory Problems

If your computer is having memory issues, then you will get this error. There is nothing you can do about this expect restart your computer. It may help to optimize your computer with a registry cleaner.

4. Computer Virus Problems

If you are unaware of viruses, then you must live in a bubble. Even after you clean your computer of viruses and spyware, your computer is left with traces of registry keys. Only a registry cleaner will get rid of these tiny traces and get your computer up and running like new.
