How to Take Weird Pictures

Weird pictures can be very fun, since you create camera tricks that make it seem as if you're doing impossible things. You can make huge things smaller, or create the illusion of flying or walking on water. These can be done through proper timing, and just enough light to create a vivid picture. In most cases, you will need at least one other person to create the scene. A stand or tripod will also help much to get stable and crisp photos.

One good weird picture is the called the tree trap. This is done by looking for two similar trees that are about 3 feet apart. The trunk of the trees should be large enough to cover your entire body if you hide behind one. The cameraman will position himself at a 3/4 angle from the two trees. If you view your camera, it will seem like the two trunks are just one tree. Your friend should position himself between the two trees. Most of his body should be hidden by the front tree, with the hind tree serving as the partial background. Have his head and part of his chest and shoulder stick out of the trees. This will seem as if he's coming out of the trees. This is best done with the right costume and light.

Another way to take weird pictures is to create the illusion of making huge things small enough to fit your hand or fingertips. For example, you can aim for a famous building. Position your hand or have a friend help you by positioning his hand very close to the camera lens. Have him curl his fingers so that the tips are placed at the top and bottom of the building. It will seem as if you're holding the popular landmark right in your hand. You can also do the same for other huge things like cars, trains, airplanes, elephants and mountains.

Editing Photos

If you have the right skills to photo edit your work, you can do a lot of art and get weird pictures that people will keep talking about. You can attach your face to a very muscular body or a model in a bikini if you're a girl to create the illusion of being very fit and beautiful. You can also attach your face to a celebrity couple shot to look as if you're going out with a famous model or actress. You can attach your face to various popular shots, like a photo of a famous athlete scoring a dunk or making a winning touchdown. You can also attach your face to different uniforms. Just make sure that you get the right angle, color and lighting to have a seemingly real weird picture.

Group Photos

You can also make weird pictures with the help of a group. Some people like to form words by grouping themselves together and wearing different colors. Others use tools and materials like paint, charcoal and waste materials to paint a picture. Group shots make very interesting weird pictures, because these require added creativity and synchronization to pull off effectively. You might need someone to function as choreographer to get the photo right.
