We live our lives negotiating every single day. When you go to work, you'll negotiate with your colleagues or manager regarding work related issues. When you go to an interview, you're negotiating why you're the best candidate for that job. Sometimes in a negotiation, you come out feeling like a winner and sometimes a loser.

There are all kinds of angles to negotiations such as between husband and wife, employee and employer, team mates and anything that deals with people. Many people usually end up arguing when trying to negotiate. Sadly this leads to nowhere and both sides end up being the loser. In order to have a successful outcome, it's imperative that both sides leave the table feeling good. If you properly negotiate every time, you can come out as a winner every time.

Some tips to great negotiation is not be forceful or be aggressive as the other party would respond negatively and argument could break out. Try to put yourself in the other person's shoes while negotiating but do not show signs of weakness, stay firm. Take the blame where appropriate and remember if you don't take some accountability, you will lose. Also, try to make use of the weaknesses of the opposite party against them.

Also, if you're a leader in a sports team, you know that it's hard to motivate your team mates. If you try to make everyone feel important by giving them specific roles and responsibilities, they'll respect and listen to you. Negotiating don't have to be a one sided advantage, both parties can depart feeling good about the deal.
