File a police report if your phone has not turned up after several hours, and call your wireless provider to cancel your service. You need to notify your provider because you want to make sure that nobody can create excess charges on your cell phone. If all else fails and you can't find your phone, call your cell phone provider. If your phone is enabled with a GPS unit, they may be able to track it down. If not, reporting your cell phone as lost or stolen will help in combating any unwarranted phone call charges that you may get on your bill next month, in case someone unsavory should happen to pick up your cell and use it, incurring charges.
