How to be Happy?

The other day my friend asks me if I am really happy

. It is easy for him to assume that I am happy as I am in a good position in a Multinational, manages bulky pay- packet every month, parenting a cute baby and above all my wife is a perfect homemaker cum so called Social Worker. I possess a glamorous bike to move faster from this corner to that, enjoy smart bank balance, even my associations are all renowned figures in the society. Still the question that my friend throws at me makes me at a loss. I dip delve into the soul to find out the answer- Am I really Happy in the True Sense of the Term?

It seems to me that this position of mine, actually the state of 'I am the Monarch of my kingdom' makes me more Unhappy. I have failed to realize what actually Happiness is. I am in no way different from those persons who are engaged in modern Rat Race. I am hankering after money, name, fame and position and in doing so I am just losing my Way to Happiness. I am hovering in the dark with the passion to be richer and to have a fine berth in the office. All the time the thought that haunts me is how can I beat my colleague to secure the top position in the office?

Targeting Happiness my only goal is to send my baby to a renowned school, arrange for him the good tutors, buy him the best dresses and all the time compare with the son of Mr. X who earns less and hence is bound to send his only son to a school sans any reputation. I want my wife dressed up as the queen moves around in the locality wearing exotic garments, let the jewelry dazzle before the timid gazes of the local women who toil hard to buy Happiness. I dip delve into the thought of self complacence and run after Glamour and Status. But the Way to Happiness remains elusive all the time.
