How to buy a diamond ring 4c's of diamond

This little article is written to give you some basic information, whether this is your first time buying a diamond or whether you are an experienced diamond buyer, just to keep in mind, so that you can make the best purchase possible.

There are 3 basic parts of the diamond

Crown

Girdle

Pavilion

Each is fashionable very differently, and you need to try to make sure that the symmetry between all those parts is balanced to have the most beautiful diamond you can get.

When you are looking to purchase diamonds you have to remember the 4 C's

Cut

Color

Clarity

Carat weight

CUT:

While purchasing a diamond, you have to consider the cut of the stone, basically the arrangement of the facets, because that's what effects the actuall beauty of your stone.

The facet arrangement is determines, what ur fire and brilliance is going to be in ur diamond.

You dont want a stone thats crown is too shallow, nor a stone with the pavilion thats too big. both have average effects how the light interacts wd stone.

You probably wont be happy with the purchase.

The stone comes in many other shapes and sizes, there are

Emerald Cut Diamond Ring

Princess Cut Diamond Ring

Asscher Cut Diamond Ring

Cushion Cut Diamond Ring,

Round, Square and lot more. All of these are considered fancy cuts stone.

CLARITY:

The clarity of the diamond basically addresses whether the stone has inclusions or not. Diamonds which are nearer to perfection are graded as Flawless under GIA clarity scale.

As per the scale, the number and size of inclusions or blemishes, its position, its effect on the overall brilliance etc. determine the grade.

The scale is divided into 11 under the following categories:

(FL) Flawless - No blemishes or inclusions under 10x magnification by skilled grader.

(IF) Internally Flawless - No inclusions, there may be slight blemishes visible only under 10x magnification by a skilled grader.

(VVS1, VVS2) Very, very slightly Included - Very, very small inclusions which are difficult to find under 10x magnification by a skilled grader.

(VS1 and VS2) Very Slightly Included - Very small inclusions which are easily visible to a skilled grader under 10x magnification.

(SI1 and SI2) Slightly Included - Small Inclusions easily visible to a skilled grader under 10x magnification and which may be visible to the naked eye.

(I1, I2 and I3) Included - Considerable number of inclusions clearly visible to a skilled grader and may even be visible to the naked eye.

Dont purchase a stone less than Si 1 quality diamond.

If you want to shop within a budget range, VS and SI graded diamonds would do just fine and give you good value for money.

COLOR:

Diamonds are available in an assortment of colors. With colors ranging from pure white to red, blue and pink.

Selecting a diamond could be difficult as each one will dazzle you almost equally!

The ideal color for a colorless stone will be classified as "D".

That means its absolutely colorless.

Class D,E & F: are the most ideal colorless diamonds you can purchase,

Class G,H,I & J are slightly tinted diamonds (just slight yellow or slight brown).

The color scale run from D-Z.

Your preference going to be, to try to obtain a stone thats colorless, classified D,E or F or near colorless G-J.

And what about the diamonds of vibrant colors such as blues and pinks? In fact, these fancy-colored diamonds are grouped into a separate category Z+. These diamonds are considered to be very valuable because of its rarity, brilliant colors and uniqueness and are quite expensive.

Carat Weight:

When the weight of the diamond increases, the carat value increases and so does the price. Therefore a larger diamond will cost much more than a smaller diamond, but its not neccessarily so.

Bigger isn't necessarily better, but you have to remmeber, just because the stone is big,

Doesn't mean that its the best stone you can get.

If you have a stone that have larger pavilion side, than the crown side, possibilities are you end up getting a dull diamond with less brilliance and fire.

If you have a stone thats properly cut, your carat weight may be a little lighter which will end up with a beautiful stone.

I hope this information is been helpful to you in your search for your perfect diamond.
