How to do an iPod Touch repair

The iPod touch allows you to use your fingers to do practically anything that you

want to do on the Internet simply by using your fingers because it is a heat sensitive device. If the screen isn't working, there are some ways to determine if you can repair the problem by yourself. If there's evidence that the screen is crack, broken, or otherwise physically damaged, all you have to do is to contact Apple or a repair shop and have them do a screen replacement rather than you trying to replace the screen all by yourself.

The first thing that you need to do is to determine if the problem is with the iPod Touch itself or with the screen. To determine this, connect the iPod Touch into your computer with a power charger or a USB cable and see if the screen will respond. The battery could be dead which will cause the iPod Touch not to work and the screen to be black.

The next thing that you should do is to determine if the iPod Touch screen will respond at all by touching various parts of the iPod Touch screen. The iPod Touch screen should respond to the touch of your finger when some pressure is applied because it is heat sensitive.

If the iPod Touch isn't responding to your touching it or if it has physical damage such as being broken or cracked you should contact Apple for support on the Internet. If you have Apple care or are still within the one year warranty period, their technicians will replace the iPod Touch screen for free if you send it back to them. If it isn't under warranty any longer, you have three other options.

You can still have Apple replace the iPod Touch screen, probably in one day but it is very expensive. You can have a third party repair shop replace it, which is considerable less expensive than having Apple do the replacement but it will take longer than a day. There are many repair shops with websites on the Internet. You can also replace the iPod Touch screen yourself. This is the least expensive option and there are iPod Touch screen replacement instructions on the Internet. If you attempt to replace the screen and fail, don't send it back to Apple because if they detect that you tampered with it they will probably charge you extra for the replacement and additional repairs.
