How to generat 100s of leads and leverage off databases of 1000s in just 4 weeks
A few weeks ago a young female trainer contacted me and said Jason i am doing around
30 PT sessions each week but would really like to double my sessions, I have tried many lead generating techniques and Im doing ok but am finding it difficult to build much more.
Im sure as you read this whether you are a contractor at a gym, operate a mobile/outdoor business or even own your own studio you can, to some degree relate.
I said to this wonderful girl and personal trainer imagine if I can show you a simple way to gain dozens of leads and leverage off databases of 1000s would that be something that would cause you to get excited right now?
Her response was How, how do I do that please tell me...
I said to her I can do one better I will personally show you.
We then continued to look at surrounding businesses and found a great beauty salon directly across the road from the club she trained clients in. I went with her to the beauty salon and asked for the Manager.
The Manager was a young lady around 30 with a big beautiful smile and welcomed us openly. I said to the Manager We would love to offer your loyal customers a special gift as a reward for making a purchase here and offer them 3 free personal training sessions valued at $150 when they spend over $100. The Manager said Wow that is a great idea and very generous offer; we would love the opportunity to offer our customers this great incentive as will add value and increase our sales.
I said Great how can we make all your customers aware of this special offer? The manager then continued to say Well we actually run a monthly newsletter and we can also send them a text message as we have a special program.
I replied That is great and how many people do you have in your database? The manager continued by saying 4500 people.
Of course you can imagine the sparkle in the young personal trainers eyes when she realized that there was a goldmine right across the road and didnt even know it.
I then asked the Manager what steps we take now to get the ball rolling. The manager suggested well lets run the promotion for October and we will send a text and an email with the promo to our database of 4500 people.
I said That is great and you know what will be an awesome idea is if we can promote your business also by taking some flyers and handing them out at the club and also if you put the contact phone number of this lovely young personal trainer in the text message and email promo we can get your more business because anyone who calls asking about PT she can advise that they must spend $100 first and refer them to you.
(THIS IS THE KEY AND A PRIORITY TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS STRATEGY MOST BUSINESS OWNERS OPEN MINDED ENOUGH TO WORK WITH YOU WILL ALSO BE OPEN ENOUGH TO PUTTING YOUR CONTACT DETAILS IN THE PROMO)
The Manager was more than happy to oblige and then we took some flyers to hand out at the gym and had some flyers printed up to put in the beauty salon with the 3 free sessions on it.
Note the 3 free sessions are made up of the following a 1 hour induction (30minute goal setting session, 30 minute workout and an up sell) and the 3rd is a 30minute follow-up.
There are many variations to this strategy and the sky is the limit only to your creative mind and imagine if you where to work with 5 or 6 businesses...
What other ideas can you come up with?
Oh by the way in her first week she received 12 leads, not bad for a few minutes work...
