If your boss is pampering your colleague then he has friend like relations with his father. If he is getting promotions ahead of everybody in office then his father has literally spoilt him in his childhood days and has never used the rod even once. If your boss overlooks all his mistakes then his father have never scolded him even for his mistakes, he has instead pampered him.
The solution is simple. Mend your relations with your father at home and you will see the difference. Stop arguing/fighting with your father at home. Impress your father with good behavior, gifts etc and you will find that your struggle will lessen in the coming days. You attitude towards your boss might change automatically and even his attitude towards you might change. You might get a good job in a new company under a Samaritan boss. Children of divorced parents should never hate their father or their careers will be ruined. They should somehow forgive their father for ditching their mothers and mend their relations with him. If you respect your father but you are afraid of him it means you don't have good relation with him. You should treat your father as your best friend and even he should treat you as his best friend because onesided excellent relationship will still mean you will struggle a bit in your career.
