It seems everyone wants to increase their followers. Having a social profile gives you the power to reach out to millions of strangers in the world and strike a friendship, even though a virtual one. Follow others

Retweet (RT) others' posts that you like. When you RT the post of some others, it shows them that you appreciate what they wrote. This can make them remember you and return the favor at other times. This will get into the notice of their friends and get some of them to follow you.

Post good messages

The most important point. Unless your posts are good, they will not attract followers. Try to make each of your posts nice and thoughtful. A good example of this is rapper Rev Run. The singer follows nobody but has more than 1,768,294 people trailing him on Twitter. And that is not only for his fame. His posts are nice, meaningful and worth following. His posts are quoted by many people. If you are not too good with words, you can post some beautiful, famous quotes on your profile after every half-an-hour or so. You will soon see the results!
