The first step to making a good impression comes a few days before your starting date - take time to learn about the company, their history and their culture. Secondly, be punctual. Turning up late creates an awful first impression, and you will probably be in a bit of a state, having hurried to get there on time. If you are driving, do a couple of practice runs in the days before, and be sure to leave a little earlier on your first morning.
