First off, right click on my computer, choose properties , choose the advanced tab then choose performance,, click the 3rd option down that says set for best performance,

Second, double click on my computer, on the all drives that are listed under local disks( which are hard drives) right click , then choose properties, at the bottom it should say disk clean up, choose that option and eliminate anything that comes up showing files,,

Thirdly, click on start then choose run , type msconfig, enter, then choose the setup tab, uncheck everything , except your virus software, finish that , then restart.

After doing all those, and comp restarts, a box will come up saying configuration change, just check off the little box on bottom left that says dont show this again, then the ok button on the box, then at that time, you can download Registry Easy use this link , i put this on all comps i build or repair.

The nice thing about Registry Easy is it allows you to back up everything you remove from the registry. As long as you did a back up you'll be fine. Just go to where ever Registry Easy put the back ups and restore them. To answer your question, yes registry cleaner can mess up a computer. No one should use them inless they know what they are doing. Always back up your changes to your registry and you'll be ok.

You should see a performance boost without spending any money, then if you want to, start with the easiest, adding some ram, and then maybe a second hard drive if you can, these 2 together will help to increase your virtual memory amount.
