Do you remember how big computers used to be even 50 years ago? It was all that long ago that your average computer would take up dozens of square feet. Nowadays that type of power can be harnessed into a simple desktop computer let alone the computing power that would have been needed years ago to power something like the GE Fanuc series of assembly line computer components. In fact the GE PLC one of component parts when of really been unimaginable decades ago so we're really benefiting from the tremendous glut of technological advance that has taken place in recent years. So what can we expect in the future for the typical desktop computer or from component parts in larger pieces of machinery?
