The HP LaserJet P2015 series of monochrome laser printers is a set of four compact

but powerful devices with a small range of hardware options including an external duplexor and additional paper tray. Designed to be affordable and compact, the P2015 printers are perfect for small offices or home users who dont wish to spend a lot of money on a laser printer, but still require excellent speed and quality.

With a print speed of up to 27 pages per minute on letter sized paper, the HP LaserJet P2015 packs a lot of power into a small package. The units limited footprint of only 13.8 x 14.3 x 10.1 in (W x D x H) and weight of 22.7 pounds for the base model, and up to 31.1 pounds for the upgraded models, keeps the device within the same size range as desktop inkjet printers.

True 1200 x 1200 dot per inch resolution is selectable for high quality printing, and a FastRes 1200 resolution enhanced mode allows for 1200 dpi equivalent printing at the HP LaserJet P2015s top print speed. The unit also comes equipped with HPs Instant On technology that reduces warm up time to zero, and allows for a first page out time of only 8.5 seconds.

While the base model HP LaserJet P2015 does not include automatic duplexing, it does leave a manual duplex option open. The upgraded versions of the unit, such as the HP LaserJet P2015d and HP LaserJet P2015dn, come complete with duplexing which makes two sided print jobs easier than ever to execute. The n model also comes with a built in network card that allows for HP Jetdirect fast Ethernet connectivity for an entire home or office.

HP makes changing toner user friendly with the HP LaserJet P2015s one door access and all in one print cartridge that allows for fast toner swaps. Furthermore, a rear output door allows for a straight through paper path for special media types such as envelopes and transparencies. Standard paper can be exported to the devices 125 sheet output bin. Other paper handling abilities come in the form of a standard 250 sheet paper tray, as well as a 50 sheet multipurpose tray for many special media types. One version of the printer, the HP LaserJet P2015x, comes complete with an additional 250 sheet tray, while buyers of the base models have to option of upgrading at any time, should demand arise.

An on board 400 MHz processor keeps workloads moving along smoothly and 32 MBs of standard memory should also prove to be sufficient for most printing tasks. If complex print duties cause slowdown, memory can be expanded to up to 288 total MBs to keep imagery printing at an acceptable pace.

Standard single host PC connectivity can be obtained via a high speed USB 2.0 port, while networking models also include an Ethernet port. The HP LaserJet P2015 is admittedly a very bare bones model, but it should be perfect for those with simple printing demands.
