Hp Lists Pavilion Dm1z Laptop Powered By Amd Brazos
Since AMD released its Fusion-based mobile platform just a short while ahead of the
2011 International CES, PC maker, naturally, followed up with their systems, HP having now listed a certain Pavilion model on its website.
AMD's so-called Brazos platform may include multiple chips, but one in particular has showed up in quite a few (ultraportable) laptops.
The APU (accelerated processing unit) in question is the E-350 and also lies at the heart of the HP Pavilion dm1z.
For those in need of a reminder, an APU is an AMD Fusion-based processor with on-die Radeon HD 6000 series graphics (DirectX 11 is supported).
The E-350 has two x86 cores, each operating at a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz, while the graphics is the Radeon HD 6310.
The processor is complemented by up to a solid 8 GB of RAM, while the built-in GPU exploits an LED-backlit HD screen (1,366 x 768 pixel resolution).
Other specifications include a webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, a multi-card reader and Altec Lansing speakers.
Finally, all the hardware runs on the power provided by a 6-cell battery, which an last for up to 9.5 hours on a single charge, depending on configuration and the way the PC used.
There is also a hard disk drive, whose capacity can reach up to 750 GB, though one can also choose to get a 128 GB SSD (solid state drive) instead.
As for the design, the various parts mentioned above are crammed inside a frame that measures 11.6 inches.
Pre-orders can already be set through a special page on HP's website, located here, but actual deliveries won't start to be carried out until January 24, 2011.
The operating system pre-loaded onto the Pavilion dm1z is Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional (64bit) and the base price is of $450.
