Htc Tattoo Vs Htc Hero Less Differences Then One Might Expect

The HTC Hero, comes with a 3.2display, while the HTC Tattoo only has a significantly smaller 2.8display, with a much lower resolution

. While the Hero can display HVGA (320 x 480 pixels), the Tattoo is only capable of displaying QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolutions. These results in much more scrolling when browsing the Internet, and images will look less sharp than Hero. An unexpected advantage of the Tattoo, is that because of the smaller screen, the model is more compact, making it easier to handle, or carry in a pocket. In other words; it looks and feels more like a regular mobile phone, which is an advantage that should not be underestimated, especially when operating the phone using only one hand.

The touch screen is also an obvious area where costs have been cut, during the manufacturing for the HTC Tattoo, resulting in less pressure sensitivity then the HTC Hero, but when put to the test, the difference is minimal and the Tattoo actually does not perform that bad. Unlike the HTC Hero, the Tattoo does not support multi touch, which affects browsing the Internet.

Both devices have a Qualcomm processor running at 528 MHz at the core, which is more than enough, for the tasks it is used for.

HTC Tattoo comes equipped with an 1100 mAh battery, compared to a 1350 mAh, which comes with the HTC Hero. In theory this will have some impact on the talk time, but in reality the difference once again is minimal and barely noticeable.

Overall, when price is not an issue it is still recommended to go for the HTC Hero, instead of the HTC tattoo, but when on a budget, the Tattoo may actually be a good choice, compared to the Hero, with less features absent then one might expect, and shortcomings one can live with.
