Hublot Is A Big No When Offering Me A Slick Deal

I never trust someone offering me a slick deal if they have a gorgeous luxury watch on

. It is not that I do not appreciate the beauty of well designed time pieces and it certainly is not that I would like to downplay the majesty of Swiss engineering. Instead it is an issue of my own sense of what that watch says of the wearer. This, as I am prone to saying, is not my first rodeo. I know that to get one of those amazing watches you either did some dirty dealing, you are an unbelievably rich person or you are an expert troll when it comes to finding bargains. In all of these cases I am quite sure that you could easily swindle a lunkhead like me.

Hublot, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Gucci, I know all of the brand names and I know myself well enough to know that a high end snake oil salesman could have me pant-less in the middle of a third world country if I give him or her the chance. So when I see a guy or gal talking up bargains but flashing a Hublot I immediately excuse myself from the conversation. As they inevitably and knowingly attempt to lure me back while following I try and mumble a prayer to myself for clarity, piece and mostly to talk over their silky smooth sales pitch.

This scenario happens to me from time to time. I am on vacation and in some sort of a gift shop or any other sort of unfamiliar store. I have no intention of making a purchase of any sort but in the interest of going with the flow I browse. When I pick up some useless and over priced nicknack simply to see how poorly it is made and how much I do not want to buy it. At that point a sales person will inevitably prey on my gullible aw shucks demeanor. If I do not get out in time, they always get me. I've spent sixty-seven dollars on a snow globe and immediately regretted it.

So when I see a person who is clearly strives for excellence and knows how to get their way walking towards me flashing their pricey watch and their golden smile I get nervous and I try and get out. I love your beautiful watch and I hope you got an extreme deal on it but I do not want to contribute to your money pile for the next one. Not me.
