Don't over do the hutch. The hutch should customize the room, not the other way around. If you have too much to display, choose to rotate the items in the display in and out of storage space as opposed to overcrowding a hutch or overcrowding a room with multiple hutches. Be sure the room is large enough to accommodate the space required for a hutch. Low ceilings will require a shorter hutch than tall ceilings. Place the hutch away from too much clutter as you'll want the piece to draw attention and stand on its own so that everyone can admire the subjects you've chosen to display.
