Hypnotists Boost Your Success By Letting it Flow
Hypnotists Boost Your Success By Letting it Flow
One of the common concerns that my hypnosis students initially have is how will they know the right thing to say to their clients? I think that this is a concern of many hypnotists and one of the reasons why script books are so popular. So I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a few of my viewpoints to hopefully inspire you to trust more in your innate talents, intuition, and creativity during the change process as well as to understand that all the right words are already inside of you all that is needed is permission to let them out.
In my sessions, I never worry about what to say or having to say the perfect things. The reason for my confidence comes from allowing myself to be an open channel to my higher power. I prepare myself before every session with a prayer and humbly ask to be an instrument of healing. "Oh Great Creator, I humbly ask to be an instrument of healing today for my client. I ask that you guide all of my thoughts, words, and actions during my session and do your work through me. I am honored to be in a position of service today. Please keep me fully present, free of judgments, and completely open to your Divine Guidance. I know in full confidence and faith that all it takes is one word of yours spoken through my lips to improve and heal this person permanently. I thank you for allowing me to be one of your instruments of healing today. Thank you for your constant guidance and inspiration. Thank you for assisting in this process today and for the healing that is coming. I humbly ask that my prayers be received and accepted. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
Prayers like this before a session, always keep my mind focused on my role which is the middle man in the change process. By opening myself up before a session and being as present as possible with my client, I know that my intuition and creative mind will be guided by a higher source and all the right things will simply flow out. It is like being present for a loved one who is suffering. When a loved one is upset about something or when a child comes home from school crying, we never questioned or doubted that we would know the right thing to say. We were simply present with them and allowed our higher self to shine through. Inevitably, we always came up with just the right thing to say or do to help our loved one feel better about themselves or the situation. I have found that by taking this mindset into sessions, it truly can create profound healing experiences for both the client and the hypnotist.
Another way I overcame the concern about saying all the right things was when I came to the realization that a hypnotist gives nothing to a client. What I mean by this is we are not miracle workers who job is designed to give new gifts, skills, or talents to our clients. Our job is not to bestow attributes to our clients but to awaken the incredible resources they already have lying dormant inside of them. The problem isn't if the clients have the resources to change, they all do, it is more a matter of helping them to remove the blinders to their true potential. I like to use this simple metaphor with my clients to help them realize that they got what it takes to succeed.
"Back in my hometown of Pittsburgh, one of my favorite places to go is Phipps Conservatory. Phipps Conservatory contains beautiful botanical gardens and they always create the most beautiful displays of flowers. On this particular day, I was observing a magnificent display of flowers from the rain forest. They were some of the most colorful and radiant flowers I have ever seen. Then I came to this one unusual spot in the display. It wasn't a beautiful flower that caught my attention but the big dirt patch that was right in the middle. I couldn't understand why in the world they would have a dirt patch here and wouldn't put even a potted flower to fill the space. Then I looked up and saw a small sign posted in the dirt and when I read it, it put the biggest smile across my face. The sign read, "I'm not deadI'm just dormant." (I then pause and follow it up with something like this.) And all those resources and positive feelings that you thought were goneyou can now realizehave always been therelying dormant and simply waiting to be nurtured again by your loving thoughts and actions. While you are in this peaceful state of mind and bodyyou canbegin to water those positive seeds now so that they can start to flourish and blossom into the most beautiful creations."
Like our clients, you too have everything already inside of you to assist your clients to a better quality of life. It is time to let go of the idea of needing the right script and begin to trust in your own innate talents, tremendous intelligence, and unlimited creativity. By simply being present with your clients, asking for Divine Guidance, and trusting in your own skills you will be amazed at how easily all the right things simply flow out of you.
